The weekend!

My weekend was a pretty chill weekend. Friday: Went to class, went home and then hit up some homies to chill. Its nice to reconnect with people that you haven't spoken to in awhile. I got them to go to the weekly car meet I attend. On Saturday I was rudely awaken from a phone call and someone knocking at my window! MY ROOM WINDOW!! It was Toledo. He came from his class where the teacher didnt show up so he left and bothered me. We then hit up Saraphugo to go to Fatlace Word Up, their monthly drift event. It felt good to actually just watch and not having to worry about taking pictures. We then went to Tanforan mall to fuck around. While browsing around Tanfo we ran into a group of people we usually see at the car meets Mister and Mrs. Menjivar with Danny! On Sunday I just chilled with mi familia, we went to Great Mall to bop around LOL. As soon as I got home, I received a phone call from Toledo asking whats down tonight and they all decided to just rent a movie and chill. Reginald and Christian drove to my house and we rented Jackass 3. That was super duper funny, there are at times in the movie where we almost yakked due to what they were doing in the movie. Watching that makes me want to cop a GoPRO! Anyways that was my weekend and enjoy the photos!

Flag's from Word Up!

Fish-Eye

If you guys didnt know, my fave lens is my fish-eye.
Im that kind of person that loves alot of distortion in my pics. A fish-eye takes an ordinary picture and stretches it into a piece of art.

Here it is...my 8mm f/3.5 fish-eye. Yes its full manual and its a pain in the ass

Here some fish-eye funn!!!
Ohhh this Ol' thing, I must forgot to sling it over my shoulder

Since I know Lawrence stalks the hell outta me!

See that asian guy to your left, you know that guy lost 5 times before I came

distortion...you know which game im taking a picture of lol
Last one for now...but this is my fave picture i have taken with my fish-eye!

Shooting for a year?!

I cant believe it, that it has been one year since I got into photography. Ever since I got into it, I have never looked back. Photography is one way for me to express myself, something I can create on my own. Photography was the only art I could ever get into, I sucked at drawing, painting, or any other art. I also was never creative when it came to drawing something, I couldn't draw a simple bunny to save my life. This was also another outlet to relieve my stress, just the way you get that perfect picture or get a better picture than you expected feels so good. My bros and I used to go to the City and shoot around, it really was fun just having some good company while learning some new things about taking pictures. When we shot I always went to my brother Reg for help and advice. He would help me with everything when it came to my photos. Let's say he taught me like 80% of everything I know about photography today. The main thing told me that really stuck in my head was "Trial and Error" You learn by trial and error, if you don't like the picture you have taken then adjust yourself and your camera. You keep adjusting until you are content or even if you want to make a regular picture better than what it was.

When I first got this camera I really didn't want people to think joined photography because of the "hype" to tell you the truth I really didn't expect to become a photographer at first, my dad and I just really wanted a good camera. After getting the camera I just got really infatuated by it. I shot whatever I could shoot, but the only downside was I was very self-conscious about my pictures. I would be hesitant to shoot with my friend because I was just really afraid of being judged. As I progressed through my photography I got over being super self-conscious, I actually craved feedback on my photos like see how people liked it or disliked it. I also wanted to have constructive criticism on how I can make my photos better.

Soon enough my bros and I decided to make a photography group. The thing was that we were all shooting at the same shows so we took our genius's and collaborated and THUS doubleZERO_O was born. In doubleZERO_O was Reg, Toledo, and me. We all shot at the car shows in the summer that we could make. This group soon became more than taking pictures but became a brotherhood. Present day we still going strong and getting bigger and bigger by the picture and also love and support from close friends and family such as the Scion family and more. I'm thankful for them because I know we cant get to where we are without them. You know just to shorten this, I feel very fortunate and proud to be apart of something as great as this. Just make sure to look out for us because we are coming to a show
near you!

Over the year though I have spent alot of money on this photography business but it was worth every single penny. With every penny I spent helped me out somehow on my journey through my pictures. I started out with an entry level camera but then upgraded to a professional camera. Upgraded all of my lenses. I now have 3 prime lenses and one zoom lens, 50mm f/1.4, 135mm f/2.5, 8mm f/3.5 and 17-40mm f/4 L. The thing was that all my primes were full manual meaning that I had no auto focus and had to set the aperture myself. The funny thing about the 50mm and the 135mm was that those lenses were made for film and was made back in the 60's, so I bought an adapter for it and it works just fine. The one lens that I will never regret buying is my fish-eye, I found out that I had a thing for distortion in my pictures. The distortion brought a whole new look for me, I loved it plain and simple. The other thing for the fish-eye alone was that it was super wide, a full 180 degrees.

Photography has mos def made an impression on my life. I feel really proud for keeping photography in my life, I thought I wouldn't last one month but I guess this is one thing I know I will forever have in my life. (I know that sounds corny but just bear with me lol) I know with every shot I get better and better, learning from mistakes and perfecting the skills I have learned so far. With the pictures I made, I am proud of myself because I never thought I was capable of that. Like one of my friend's said "I may not be the best photographer out there, but I'm pretty damn proud of what I made."
